Housekeeping is an operational department in a hotel, which is responsible for cleanliness, maintenance, aesthetic upkeep of the rooms, public areas, and the surroundings. It is typically called the “backbone of the hotel”

The Food & Beverage division in a Hotel is responsible for everything from serving food to keeping dining spaces tidy to restaurant inventory. F&B Service industry includes restaurants, bars, cafeterias, canteens, food courts, F&B outlets in cruise liners and other food-based hospitality businesses.

Program Scope

Short Term Training for Entry Level Profession in Food & Beverage (F&B) Service and Housekeeping Operations targeted for the youth belonging to underserved communities. These programs lead to the role of Guest Service Associates in leading Hotels, Resorts, Restaurants, and QSRs.


Program Schedule

F&B Service and Housekeeping Operations are residential programs. Students have to reside on the Smera-SAATHIYA campus for 9 weeks (F&B Service) and 7 weeks (Housekeeping Operations) for in-campus training which includes both training and practicals. This is followed by 8-12 weeks of On-the-Job Training in a premium Hotel or Resort.


Eligibility to Join

Students will have to participate in an Orientation Program to understand the career benefits this course will offer to them. Students will have to undergo and clear a screening test to be eligible to join this course. For students who are not from Thrissur, this can be done over phone including the screening test.


Certification

Post completion of entire training, candidates will appear for an Assessment. Upon completion of assessment, a Certificate will be awarded to successful candidates.
